The NRA Basic Pistol and Ohio Concealed Handgun License will be taught on December 5 and 9, 2009.  This is a one-day, 12 plus hour course that meets the requirements of Section 2923.125 (G) (1) (a) and (b) and 2923.125 (G) (2) of the Ohio Revised Code, needed to obtain an Ohio Concealed Handgun License. All course materials, refreshments and lunch are provided. Bring your own handgun and ammo, or ask about using ours.   Cost is $100.  We offer a discount for a spouse attending the same course with a family member.

2010 dates are set for January 9; February 13; April 3 & 17; May 1; June 19; July 10; August 7; September 11; October 2 & 16; November 6; December 4 &18.  Other dates may be added as demand dictates.  Contact us if you need a date that is not scheduled. 

Special half day class offered over two Sunday afternoons- 2010 schedule: This class will be split over two Sunday afternoons and is ideal for those who cannot manage a full 12 hour one day class on Saturdays. Scheduled Contact us to register.  The scheduled dates in 2010 are January 10 &17; March 14 & 21; May 2 & 9; July 11 &18; September 12 & 19; November 7 & 14.

We can also offer multiple weekday evening classes by special request for those who cannot attend a weekend class.  These will require advanced notice to determine scheduling and pricing.

Home Firearms Safety Weekday class: This is ideal for new gun owners or those family members who want a basic understanding of firearms safety. $55 per person. This requires advance notice to schedule.

Advanced Pistol Training: Spring 2010.

We offered our Advanced Pistol Course last fall on October 25, 2008 and again on April 11, 2009.  Participants at the course learned techniques for drawing from concealment, shooting on the move and other tactics in this 8-hour, range intensive course.  We received great reviews from our students and are scheduling the next class for Spring 2010.

Proof of basic pistol training such as a Concealed Handgun License, NRA Basic Pistol Certificate, or other approved training is required to attend.  We will begin with warm-ups on the fundamentals of pistol marksmanship and move on to advanced techniques.

This course does NOT meet the requirements of the ORC for initial Concealed Handgun License training, however it does cover more advanced shooting techniques and may be used as a Renewal Competency Certification class. THIS IS NOT AN NRA COURSE. 

 A minimum of 500 rounds of factory ammunition; a jacket, vest or other cover garment; and a safe belt- or IWB-holster are required.  No shoulder holsters or cross-draw holsters. Please bring appropriate eye and ear protection.

Ohio Hunter Education Course-August 21 (tentative)

We hosted an Ohio DNR Hunter Education Course on August 21, 2010.  These courses are free but seating is limited and pre-registration is required. We will host another course next year.

Future Offerings

We will soon be offering another Advanced Handgun Course.  This course will include more range time than standard pistol courses and will cover advanced tactics such as drawing, moving and shooting, use of cover and concealment, and other techniques.
